The major difference between the Brazilian M954 and the G43 is the M954 is chambered in 30.06 with a modified Browning automatic rifle mag, and a gas cut off was installed in the front handgaurd. Apparently to be used when launching a grenade. The sling attachments are also different. During the trial period it was quickly found under extensive fire (5,000 to 7,000 rds), the bolt hammered the back of the receiver to such a degree the gun quit functioning. We DO NOT recommend the shooting of this rifle, for safety reasons. Approximately 100 rifles were built by the Brazilian Government, many of them were used for different tests and only a few survived in decent condition. The rifle is marked "Mq.S/Aut. .30 M954 SER A68" on the left side of the reciever. On the right side it is marked "FABRICA DE ITAJUBA - BRASIL" When making application for the import of these rifles, I was told by the technical branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, that they had never heard of this rifle, which would give some indication of how rare it is. There are very few guns the technical branch does not know about. The Brazilian Government was considering the FN49 at about that same time, and eventually adapted the later version the FN FAL. $3,200
